Careful ground preparation to suit the site is the starting point. Our timber subframe approach uses 6 × 2-inch members with spans no greater than 1.8 metres, bolted headers and solid 4 × 4-inch supporting posts notched beneath the frame, with 6 mm structural fixings.

The supporting structure is part of the conversation from the outset, with the layout and site conditions considered alongside the finished deck.
